During ancient years, chess was known as “game of kings”. This is due to the fact that only kings are allowed to play chess. Deep Rybka vs Fruit
So I decided to run a long game Rybka vs Fruit as it looks like the Rybka opening book is rather a killing machine, it almost always 99% of times give a killer edge to Rybka thus leaving it to finish the game in style at mid endgame, so after all the book adds another 10-20 ELO to already a killing machine Rybka which is well over 3100+ Elo.
This game was played on 2 different computers, Rybka was running on my Quad Core and Fruit on my Dual 2 core. Exact game details –
Deep Rybka 4 CPU 200Hash”Rybka Opening Book” vs Fruit “Dual 2 Core 512 MB + Arena Opening Book”
Time Controls = 60 Minutes Game
Ponder On
This is the position that came after the opening and I thought Rybka got the edge after the knight sacrifice, till the very end it looked like there was only +1 difference but just when the game was hitting endgame the score went to +4 for Rybka, this shows how deep rybka can look at a given position, sometimes it finds a killer move at depths like 12-13 which is not normal considering engines like Fritz 11 and Hiarcs 12 go upto at least 17 depth to find any good moves.
Rybka Played Nxf7
The game was pretty much all tactical moves after that. After the Nxf7 Qxf4 Nxd8 Rxd8??, Rybka was winning, I thought Rxd8?? was a very bad move after which Rybka played b5 and the score was in +2.20 after that and the game was all Rybka’s after that.
Here is the full game that you can download PGN Format
Rybka vs Chess Tiger 15
I was running some games on my computer today and after 5 boring draws Rybka vs Chess Tiger 15, the giant Rybka played a smarter game in the 6th one, the opening was killer and the tactics used were killer as well, the game got over pretty much after 19th move and I was amazed at the Rybka’s Opening book and quick search evaluation even at low search depth.
The game was played in following situation –
Quad Core 4 Gig Ram
Windows Xp Pro
Rybka 3 128MB Ram – Rybka Opening Book – Default Settings (Normal Version not Deep Version)
Chess Tiger 15 128MB Ram – Fritz 11 Opening Book – Default Settings
White – Rybka vs Black – Chess Tiger 15
60 Minutes Game
White to move and Rybka played Rc5, Fruit finds it at depth 16 or 17, but Rybka played it real fast within depth 12 to be exact and I think it played the move within 5 seconds.
The game was pretty much over after Rxe5 with Knight sacrifice and then black basically gets attacked on king side and lossing queen.
